July 27, 2008

The Bulls crossed for seven tries and the win kept alive their slim semi-final hopes.
Despite the loss, Lennox Head still leads the competition on 49 points, two ahead of Coolgangatta Tweed, who had the bye on Saturday.
Elsewhere, Lismore put the final nail in the coffin for last year’s beaten grand finalists Grafton with a 49-0 thumping of the Redmen at Lismore.
No Brenton Cochrane, but Lennox Head still wins
July 20, 2008
There was no Brenton Cochrane this time, but Lennox Head still had enough firepower to beat Lismore 26-22 on Saturday at Lennox Head to maintain the lead in Far North Coast rugby union.
Cochrane, one of the quickest backs in Retravision Northern League, took advantage of his club Lower Clarence’s bye last weekend to turn out for Lennox Head in the rugby match against Grafton.
He scored three tries to steer Lennox to a win, but his appearance earned the ire of Lower Clarence officials, who say Cochrane has signed a contract to not play any other sport during the league season.
They said they were considering docking him some of his match payments.

Cochrane’s three tries help Lennox Head to FNC rugby win
July 13, 2008
Three tries to Lennox Head fullback Brenton Cochrane helped the Far North Coast rugby union competition leaders to a 28-19 win over Grafton at Grafton on Saturday.
The defeat has seriously weakened the prospects of Grafton, minor premiers and beaten grand finalists last year, of making the play-offs.
Grafton now sit in sixth place, two behind fifth-placed Ballina, who beat the Redmen in last season’s grand final.
