Ann Vriend, the former spy turned singer, will perform at the Byron Community Theatre on Thursday, November 27.

Vriend worked incognito for an undisclosed western European agency, posing as a freelance journalist, when she met someone who was also spy – but for the other side.

Against all odds, they fell in love – thus entering an increasingly complicated game of torn loyalties, clandestine passion, and treacherous lies.

It is these experiences which inspired ‘When We Were Spies’, her new pop album.

Vriend has an amazing ear for orchestration and masterful control of the grand piano.

She has stunned audiences at the International Leonard Cohen Festival, Holzminden Jazz Festival (Germany) and Port Fairy Folk Music Festival.

She passionately performs her music around the world, from New York to Berlin to Paris to her native Canada.
