Lismore Symphony Orchestra joined by 90-voice community choir
June 7, 2008
Lismore Symphony Orchestra will be joined by a 90-voice community choir when it performs at Lismore City Hall on June 14 and 15.
Lismore Symphony is a community orchestra, drawing its 40 members from throughout the region.
They rehearse in preparation for two concerts a year.
They say that their increasing success is due to the support they get from the community.
“Each concert is a selection of carefully chosen works from Beethoven symphonies to popular movie themes and much in between – all chosen with you, the audience, in mind,” a spokeswoman said.
“Our next concert combines the talents of the orchestra with that of a 90-voice community choir.”
Orchestral and operatic favourites are on the program including works by Tchaikovsky, Borodin, Puccini, Verdi and Wagner.
Vocal soloist will be Cathy Mooney.
