Far North Coast Rugby Union
Rugby Union has a strong history on the Far North Coast and continues to draw a strong and loyal following of players and supporters in senior and Junior grades from an area that spans from Tweed Heads to Grafton and west to Casino.
The Cooper’s Far North Coast Rugby Union competition is held on Saturdays and includes First Grade, Second grade, Third grade and Colts (Under 19) teams which include Ballina, Casino, Grafton, Lismore, Southern Cross Uni, Lennox Head, Yamba, Wollongbar and Coolangatta-Tweed Heads in First Grade, with Mullumbimby and Evans River also in the 3 other grades.
The village comp includes teams from a wider area including Byron Bay, Bangalow, Iluka, Evans Head, Kyogle, The Range and Woopi (Woolgoolga).

Far North Coast rugby squad for 2009 announced
Far North Coast Rugby Union has announced its 2009 opens training squad.
The team finally selected will take part in the NSW Country Championships, with one match to be played in the FNC Zone on March 21 at Crozier Field, Lismore, and two away matches on the following weekend at a venue to be decided.
There will be a squad meeting on the Monday, November 3, at the Rous Hotel, Lismore, starting at 6.30pm.
The first training run is on Saturday, November 15, at the Ballina Rugby Club from 2.30pm.

Lennox Head win Far North Coast rugby union grand final
Lennox Head are the 2008 Far North Coast rugby union major premiers.
The Trojans beat Coolangatta Tweed 23-15 in yesterday’s grand final at Oakes Oval, Lismore.
Lennox Head turned in a dominant first-half performance and led 18-3 at the half-time break.
Coolangatta Tweed hit back with second-tries to Anaru Smith and Nathan Jacobs, but could not peg back the deficit.
The win capped a remarkable turnaround for Lennox, who finished last in 2007.
