It’s make-or-break time for Kyogle in Retravision Northern League

It’s make-or-break time this Sunday for the Kyogle Turkeys when they take on Retravision Northern League leaders Byron Bay at New Park, Kyogle.

The Turkeys must win to keep alive their hopes of a semi-final berth in the Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League competition.

But that will be a tall order against the Red Devils, who have the slickest backline in the competition.

Also boosting Byron Bay is the selection of Andrew Battese as hooker.

Battese is a Gold Coast Titans contracted junior.

Kyogle are in seventh spot, two points out of the four.

Equal fifth-placed Mullumbimby should be too strong for Casino RSM at Mullum on Saturday, while Tweed Coast Raiders, who are also in fifth spot, have the bye this weekend.

If Mullumbimby wins and Kyogle loses, that will see the Turkeys four points adrift of the top five with only four rounds remaining.

Meanwhile, big hits, great tries and epic victories will be re-enacted when Ballina Seagulls rugby league grand final winners hold a reunion during the clash against arch rivals Marist Brothers at Kingsford Smith Park, Ballina, on Sunday.

All grand final team members in all grades from 1983 onwards are invited to attend.
