An 88-year-old Cherry Street, Ballina, male was the victim of an aggravated break, enter and steal between 11.30pm and 11.33pm on Wednesday night.
The male awoke to see a male described as Aboriginal appearance, approx 160-165cm tall, short dark hair, and dark clothing ransacking his bedroom.
Stolen from the premises was a sum of cash. Information to Ballina Police on 66-818699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800-333-000.
Overnight police have had reports of stolen or attempted stolen motor vehicles from both Goonellabah and Ballina. Police located a 1997 Magna burnt out on Bangalow Road, Boatharbour, which was stolen from Goonellabah between 10pm Wednesday night and 2.45am Thursday morning.
An offender’s attempt to steal a 1995 Hyundai were hampered by an immobiliser between 6pm and 9.50pm on Wednesday night when the vehicle parked in Simeoni Drive, Goonellabah.
A Holden Commodore stolen from Ballina overnight Wednesday has been located at Alstonville in a damaged condition at 6.30am Thursday.
A 1995 Suzuki stolen from Goonellabah Wednesday night was located at 1am engulfed in fire on the intersection of Kadina Street and Ballina Road, Goonellabah.
