Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after a fatal pedestrian collision in Evans Head.

About 8.20am today (Monday 4 June 2012), a 76-year-old man was crossing the road at the intersection of Woodburn Street and Wattle Street in Evans Head when he was hit by a blue Holden Commodore travelling north along Wattle Street.

The 46-year-old female driver of the Commodore, the only occupant of the car, stopped the vehicle, went to the man’s aid and called emergency services.

Police and paramedics attended, however, were unable to revive the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating the incident and ask anyone who may have witnessed it to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
