Police launch critical incident investigation – Tumbulgum

A critical investigation team has been formed after a man died following a police pursuit last night, October 17.
About 8.10pm officers attached to Tweed Heads Highway Patrol detected a motorcyclist travelling south along Terranora Road, East Tumbulgum, about 15km west of Tweed Heads.
Police followed the motorcycle for a short distance before the rider lost control and collided heavily with a tree.
The 42-year-old man died at the scene.
An independent critical incident team will investigate the circumstance surrounding the incident.
