A report is being prepared for the Coroner after the death of a motorcyclist in the State’s north this morning (Saturday 29 December 2012).

About 10.45am, a man, believed to be in his sixties, was riding a motorcycle north on the Summerland Way near Whiporie.

As the motorcycle neared the intersection of Whiporie Road it was involved in a collision with a Mazda utility. It is believed the male utility driver wasn’t hurt in the crash.

Despite the efforts of emergency services personnel on site, the motorcyclist died at the scene.

The motorcyclist’s death brings the State’s Christmas/New Year road toll to nine.
