Ning Feng, John Chen to perform in Byron Bay
August 10, 2008
What happens when you combine the talents of the youngest ever winner of the Sydney International Piano Competition with those of a young violinist who has been awarded the Paganini Prize in Italy, and been the only person in the 200-year history of the London Royal Academy of Music to ever be awarded 100% for an examination performance?
You get an evening of superb and sublime music presented by two of the world’s rising stars.
Ning Feng (violin) and John Chen (piano) will perform a program of sonatas through the ages. From Mozart and Beethoven, 200 years of musical history will be covered.
Since winning the Paganini Prize, Ning Feng has been in great demand on the world touring circuit.
After winning this prize he was invited to play on Paganini’s own violin.
In 2005 he released his first solo CD, which rapidly sold out.
When he played for the great Menhuin in 1998 he was immediately invited to take part in a concert being organised in Germany. And his prize list is just amazing.
John Chen commenced his piano studies at three years of age and at 18 he had his Master of Music.
In 2004, when he won the Sydney Competition, he was also awarded the best performance of Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, chamber music and 19/20th century concerto.
