Police attended a single motor vehicle accident on the Evans Head/Woodburn road at 4.46am on Thursday morning.

A small child in a serious condition was conveyed to Lismore Base Hospital and is expected to be airlifted to Brisbane today.

The female driver (mother) was conveyed to Ballina Hospital with a fractured leg.

The roadway is clear of accident debris and open to the general public.

Motorists are asked to take care in the area as Police Accident Investigation Squad as still on scene.

Motorists are reminded to drive to road conditions with the spate of inclement weather we are currently experiencing.

An 18-year-old male received slight injuries when he was involved in a tractor rollover at 3.15pm Wednesday afternoon on private property on Newrybar Swamp Road, Knockrow.

Offenders have stolen motor vehicles in the Casino and Coraki area overnight with all still not recovered:

A 1988 323 Mazda from West Street, Casino, between 11pm Wednesday night and 5.35am Thursday morning.

A 1989 Toyota from Bridge Street, Coraki, between 8.30pm Wednesday night and 1am Thursday morning.

A 1989 Nissan from Short Street, Coraki, between 7.30pm and 10.35pm on Wednesday night.

All vehicles stolen are older model vehicles without engine immobilisers.

Drivers need to secure vehicles prior to vacating them, with consideration to the use of steering locks or the installation of alarms.
