Richmond Area Command police report

Police have received 23 reports of assault across the Richmond Local Area Command over the weekend.

These assaults included offences against Police, Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm, Common Assault, Indecent Assault and Domestic Assault — 3 in Ballina, 4 in Casino, 8 in Lismore, 1 in Clunes, Evans Head, Lennox Head, Urbenville and Woodenbong.

The majority of offences reported were alcohol-related.

Offenders have again targeted bags in shopping centres over the weekend of shoppers who had their bags and wallets sitting in shopping trolleys.

A couple working together targeted a shopping centre in Kerr Street, Ballina, between 3.15pm and 3.30pm on Sunday afternoon.
Police are continuing to investigate the incidents.

A 40-year-old Lismore male was issued with an infringement notice after he refused to leave licensed premises at 2am on Sunday morning.

Patrons are reminded they are obligated to leave licensed premises immediately when asked by staff or police and cannot return within 24 hours.

A 34-year-old male has been charged with Assault Police after he kicked out at police in Keen Street, Lismore at 12.25am on Saturday morning.
