Police have arrested and charged two men with the murder of a 39-year-old man at Inverell, in the State’s north-west.

Just before 11am on Sunday, the man’s body was discovered in the front enclosed verandah of his Lindsay Avenue home.

The findings of a post mortem examination are still being finalised and the exact cause of death is unknown, but there were obvious signs of injury to the victim.

Around 1.30 yesterday afternoon, an 18-year-old man attended the Inverell Police Station to talk to investigators.

Around the same time, a 26-year-old man attended the Casino Police Station in relation to the killing.

As a result, detectives have charged both men with murder.

The 18-year-old has been denied bail, ordered to appear in Armidale Local Court later today.

The 26-year-old, also denied bail, is expected to appear in Lismore Local Court.
