November 20, 2008
Lismore Detectives working in conjunction with State Crime Commission Drug Squad and New South Wales Crime Commission have arrested and charged two Ballina residents, charging them with two counts of Supply a Commercial Quantity of Prohibited Drugs (heroin and methylamphetamine).
The male aged 48 and female aged 68 were charged with Supply Large Commercial Quantity following a long, protracted investigation by investigators from Taskforce Tonkie.
The two were arrested as part of the Taskforce, which is a continuing operation targeting the use, sale and supply of prohibited drugs within the Richmond Police Command.
Detective Inspector Steve Clarke said: “These arrests are part of the command’s targeting of those involved in prohibited drugs.
“Police resources will continue targeting illegal drug activity.
“These arrests are timely, taking two more dealers off the streets, knowing that Schoolies Week celebrations are just commencing.”
