Trio charged after Lismore assault

Two men and a woman have been charged after two people were assaulted in Lismore.

The incident happened about 8.15pm on Monday when the trio entered a home in Keen Street and allegedly threatened a man and woman, both aged 22.

The couple was assaulted before the woman was able to escape and call police from a neighbour’s home.

All three were arrested a short time later.

A 33-year-old man has been charged with two counts of common assault, and one count each of aggravated enter dwelling with intent, steal, malicious damage, and possession of a prohibited drug. He has been refused bail and is due to appear in Lismore Local Court on 6 January.

A 25-year-old man was charged with one count each of aggravated enter dwelling with intent, and assault police. He was refused bail and is due to appear in Lismore Local Court on 17 February.

A 26-year-old woman has been charged with enter enclosed lands. She was granted conditional bail and is due to appear in Lismore Local Court on 9 February. All three are from Lismore.

A three-year-old girl and a three-month-old baby girl at home at the time of the incident escaped injury.
