Bangalow’s Railway Park public toilets will be temporarily closed for three weeks from Monday the 23 March due to upgrading.

At an estimated cost of $30,000, the toilets will be upgraded with new urinals, stainless steel toilet bowls, floor, hand rails and painted inside and out.

“The upgrade is part of a shire-wide $250,000 public amenities upgrade program,” said Byron Shire Council’s Director of Governance and Community Services, Mark Arnold.

“Vandalism is an ongoing occurrence in toilet blocks throughout the shire and we urge the community to report any incidents to council on 6626 7320.”

Temporary toilets will be provided on site during this period.

Other public toilets are available at the Bangalow pool park and Bangalow sports ground.

Upgrading of the Bangalow Pool toilets is expected to start early May.

The council apologises for any inconvenience.
