Police seek public help after Lennox Head attempted indecent assault

Police are appealing for public assistance following a break and enter and an attempted indecent assault in Lennox Head  on Sunday.

About 3.30am an unknown male forced entry via a window to a home in Megan Crescent, Lennox Head, while the residents, a man, his wife and their boy and girl, were asleep.

The man entered several rooms in the house, including the 11-year-old girl’s bedroom, where he allegedly attempted to indecently assault her as she slept.

The man was startled when the girl moved and left the premises via a back door. The man was seen to drive away in a light coloured four-wheel-drive.

It is alleged the man stole two wallets, two mobile phones and a handbag.

A crime scene was established and investigations into the incident are continuing.

Police are appealing for a man who might be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as white/European in appearance, tall, skinny, aged in his 20s and wearing a baseball cap.
