Richmond Area Command police report

Police from Casino are investigating a serious assault which occurred in Grevillia Place, Casino, at 10pm on Wednesday night.

An altercation allegedly occurred between a number of males where several sharp instruments were used in the assault.

Police have seized four objects.

A 42-year-old Casino man was injured during the incident, requiring hospitalisation for serious facial injuries.

After the original incident, police had to defuse a possible incident when two vehicles of males arrived at the scene.

Investigations are continuing.

Police have arrested and charged a 50-year-old Nimbin male, charging him with several firearm offences after the firearm seized by police was allegedly used in the incident on a Basil Road, Nimbin, property.

The incident occurred around 2.30pm on Wednesday afternoon.
