Detectives re-investigate death of Lennox Head woman Bronwyn Joy Winfield

Detectives attached to the Northern Region Unsolved Homicide Team are currently in the Richmond Local Area Command re-investigating the suspicious disappearance of a woman from Lennox Head in 1993.
Bronwyn Joy Winfield, then aged 31, was last seen at her home on Sandstone Crescent at Lennox Head on the night of 16 May, 1993.
Her estranged husband reported her missing to police on the 27 May 1993.
Strike Force Chelmsbrook has been formed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the suspicious disappearance.
An inquiry in 1998 conducted at the time by police from Ballina into Bronwyn Winfield’s disappearance, led to a Coronial Inquest in May 2002, which found that she was in fact deceased.
Detectives attached to the Northern Region Unsolved Homicide Team are now re-investigating the suspicious disappearance of Bronwyn Winfield and are in the process of interviewing people in the local area in relation to the incident.
