Highway Patrol Supervisors are speechless after two P-Platers were allegedly detected speeding by speed camera on the Bruxner Highway on Wednesday.

Police detected a green P plate driver at 108kph in a 60kph zone followed shortly by what appeared to be his mate displaying red P-Plates travelling at 93kph in the same zone.

Such offences are subject to immediate cancellation of licence and possible penalties relating to demerit points for further licences.

A 27-year-old Lismore man, Mohammed (Quincy) Khan, was sentenced in the Lismore Court this morning to three years jail with a non-parole period of two years.

The sentence was a result of charges of Ongoing Supply of Prohibited Drugs, Supply of a Pistol to undercover police.

Khan was arrested by police in the Bunning’s carpark last year.

Crime Manager Detective Inspector Steve Clarke said: “This sends out a clear and strong message to those dealing with drugs, their actions will not be tolerated and police will continue on-going operations targeting those in the prohibited drug industry.”
