Police have charged a woman with murder following the death of a man in a house fire in Goonellabah earlier this year.
About 11pm on 6 February, emergency services personnel attended a house ablaze in Milgate Close, Goonellabah.
A 35-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were treated for significant burns and were transported to Royal Brisbane Hospital for their injuries.
The house was destroyed by the fire and three other occupants at the time of the blaze escaped uninjured.
On 8 February the 35-year-old man died from his injuries.
The woman was subsequently transferred to Ryde Hospital for follow-up treatment.
Following inquiries, police from Richmond Local Area Command attended Ryde and arrested a 40-year-old woman.
She was taken to Ryde Police Station and charged with murder and maliciously setting fire to a dwelling with occupants.
The woman was refused bail and appeared at Ryde Local Court yesterday (Wednesday 3 June).
At court she was again refused bail and is due to reappear at Lismore District Court on 15 June.
