Arts Northern Rivers is pleased to announce that it will be running a free workshop in Grafton, Murwillumbah and Lismore next week on how and where to apply for arts grants.

The workshop will be run by arts funding experts Annette Eassie, who is the Funding Manager from Regional Arts NSW in Sydney, with Lois Randall, CEO of Arts Northern Rivers.

Ms Randall said that she is delighted that Ms Eassie will be coming from Sydney specially to present the workshop.

“Annette has been managing arts grants and funding programs for over 12 years and is the manager of the Regional Arts Fund, the Country Arts Support Grants and a range of other programs,” she said.

“Annette is very experienced at running funding workshops and can provide the perspective from the other side – of the people who are assessing the funding applications.”

The workshops have been scheduled to help people and organisations prepare applications to the Regional Arts Fund (closes 14 August), the Australia Council Community Partnerships program (closes 30 August), and Arts NSW Arts Funding Program (closes 6 July).

As Regional Arts Development Officer at Arts Northern Rivers, Ms Randall has written or assisted with applications that have brought over a million dollars into the region for arts projects and infrastructure over the past 5 years.

She said: “The grants available through the programs we will be covering in the workshop range from $2000 to $20,000 project grants, as well as larger partnership and program grants in all art forms.

“After the workshop Annette and I will be available for one-on-one appointments to help people who have already developed a draft application finesse their submissions.

“I hope that this workshop triggers lots of quality applications from the Northern Rivers, bringing funding into the region for new and exciting arts and cultural projects.”

Arts Northern Rivers is supported by Arts NSW and seven local governments of the region.
