The day for all Community Access has changed following a decision at last week’s Tweed Shire Council meeting (Tuesday 21 July 2009).

Community members are able to address Council for five minutes per speaker at Community Access, which will now be held on the second Tuesday of each month from 4.30pm to 6.30pm in the Council Chambers at Murwillumbah.

Council’s Manager Corporate Governance Neil Baldwin said Council amended the Code of Meeting Practice (Version 1.8) at last week’s Council meeting.

“The Council Meeting will continue to be held on the third Tuesday of the month from 4.30pm with no access sessions,” Mr Baldwin said.

“The next Community Access session will be on Tuesday 11 August while the next Council Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 18 August.”

To book to speak at Community Access, call (02) 6670 2540.

“The format of the business papers for Council meetings will also change as Council has dispensed with the Planning and Operations Committees and will deal with all matters under the one Council agenda,” Mr Baldwin said.
