Tweed Shire Council considers Coroner’s findings

Tweed Shire Council’s General Manager Mike Rayner said Council was considering the Coroner’s findings into the death of toddler Travis McCarron which were handed down today by the NSW
Deputy State Coroner Magistrate P MacMahon.
“The death of Travis McCarron is a terrible tragedy,” Mr Rayner said.
“Council has been undertaking a risk assessment of all its parks and council will consider the Coroner’s recommendations in conjunction with this associated Shirewide risk assessment.
“The Coroner has specifically recommended the fencing of Russell Way park. The council will consider the Coroner’s recommendation at its next meeting on 20 October 2009.”
