Toy at Serpentine Gallery promises loads of fun
October 7, 2009
This year’s third annual Toy showcase at Serpentine Gallery in Lismore is open to artists of all ages who wish to explore the theme of play.
Toy is an art show incorporating performance/works of all ages exploring the world of play, with over 50 artworks, all by local artists.
“This will be a very fun exhibition,” a gallery spokesperson said.
“Play is something that we all do in one way or another. We were experts at it when we were young and that is why Serpentine is encouraging our young artists to get involved.
“To coincide with the Toy exhibition Serpentine is hosting some Kids Art Workshop. We will have local accomplished artists running art work shops on Saturday morning. The cost is only $5 per child to cover the costs of materials. Parental attendance is required for children under 5 years of age.”
The exhibition will open at 6pm at the Serpentine Gallery in North Lismore on Friday, October 9, and the kids art workshops on Saturday 10am-12pm. For more info contact the gallery (02) 6621 6845. Serpentine Gallery is a volunteer-run arts organisation dedicated to supporting a culture of arts in the Northern Rivers.
It is located at 17a Bridge Street, North Lismore.
