Man’s body retrieved at Bald Rock

October 14, 2009

Emergency services have retrieved the body of a man from a national park near Tenterfield overnight.

The man’s body was retrieved from the Bald Rock area last night by specialist SES officers from NSW and Queensland and ambulance paramedics.

Due to strong winds, helicopters were unable to be used in the retrieval operation.

While the man hasn’t been formally identified, police have found documents supporting the man’s identity.

Continuing efforts are under way to ensure all relevant family members have been informed.

A post-mortem examination will officially determine how the man died.

As with all sudden and unexplained deaths, a report on the circumstances leading up to his death is being prepared for the Coroner.
