Search is on for Clarence Electorate Woman of the Year
November 23, 2009
Clarence MP Steve Cansdell is calling on local residents to nominate the Clarence electorate’s 2010 Woman of the Year.
The Clarence electorate includes most of the Clarence and Richmond Valley local government areas.
“Last year we recognised tireless local community worker and cancer campaigner, Pauline Plant, who was also one of the top 10 finalists. Previous winners have been Aboriginal leader, Lenore Parker, Lower Clarence Relay for Life fund-raiser Wendy Rose and charity champion Peg Maven, who are all tough acts to follow,” Mr Cansdell said.
“I would again be particularly keen to salute a local woman with outstanding credentials in community service.
“I particularly encourage children to participate as we all know mum is woman of the year, every year.”
People wishing to nominate someone as Clarence Woman of the Year should call Mr Cansdell’s office on 6643 1244 for an application form. Nominations close 15 January 2010.
