Police arrested and charged a 47-year-old male (no fixed place of abode) driving a Tasmanian registered van at 2.20pm on Monday afternoon on River Drive, Wardell.

The male was charged with High Range PCA after recording a 0.260 reading after being stopped for an alleged traffic offence.

The male’s licence had allegedly expired in 2001.

He was bail refused to Lismore Local Court.

Police from Lismore are investigating the stealing of a purse from a handbag of a 28-year-old Lismore female as she shopped at 1.20pm on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred in a Brewster Street, Lismore, premises.

Two females are being sought for the offence.

At the time it is alleged they were driving a white Nissan with silver guards.

Similar offences have occurred in the Casino area in the last few weeks.

Offenders have stolen vehicles from Lismore and Casino in the last 24 hours:

A 1990 Holden Commodore was stolen from a Brewster Street business carpark between 1pm and 3pm on Monday afternoon.

A 1985 green Nissan Pulsar was stolen from Cawley Close, Alstonville, between 9.15am and 11.20am Monday morning.
