Pacific Highway partially reopened near Iluka; delays still expected

December 9, 2009

A bushfire continues to burn in the vicinity of the Pacific Highway at Jacky Bulbin Flat near Iluka.

The Rural Fire Service says the fire has burnt over 450ha and forced the closure of the Pacific Highway in the vicinity of the Iluka turn-off, north of Maclean, for approximately one hour this afternoon.

Whilst the highway has partially reopened, motorists are advised that there will be delays due to ongoing firefighting operations in the area.

There are no properties currently under threat and it is expected that the highway will remain partially closed until further notice.

Check the Rural Fire Service website for updates.
