Victorian man critical after crash near Grafton

A man is in a critical condition following a crash near Grafton this morning.

About 5am today, a black Nissan Navara and a B-double semi-trailer collided head-on on the Pacific Highway approximately 2km north of Ulmarra.

The driver of the utility, a 28-year-old man from Victoria, suffered critical injuries.

He was taken by road to Coffs Harbour Hospital then airlifted to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital.

He remains in a critical condition.

The road was closed for several hours following the crash while investigators examined the site.

The 51-year-old male truck driver from Victoria was not injured. He has undergone mandatory blood and urine tests and has also been interviewed by investigators.
