A man has been arrested in Queensland and will appear in court after being detained on charges of receiving property stolen in NSW.

Investigators have been examining the circumstances surrounding two break, enter and steal offences at industrial premises at South Tweed Heads.

On Tuesday 2 February a considerable amount of property was stolen from an electrical retailer in Greenway Drive.

In a second incident on Tuesday 23 March, property was also stolen during a break-in at a hardware supplier in South Tweed Heads.

Police will allege that there where several similarities in the way the thefts were conducted.

Earlier this month Burleigh Heads CIB executed a search warrant at a shed in an industrial estate in West Burleigh Heads.

Police will allege that they located a large amount of electrical items and tools which were seized for further examination.

About 8am on Friday 2 April Queensland Police arrested a 37-year-old Burleigh Heads man at home.

He was taken to Burleigh Heads Police Station where he was subsequently charged with receiving property stolen outside the State of Queensland.

The man was refused bail and will appear at Southport Magistrates Court on 6 April.

Detective Inspector Shane Diehm from Tweed-Byron Local Area Command said the investigation continued.

“We will continue to investigate these two serious break-ins and strengthen our focus on property offences,” he said.
