Woman pedestrian killed at East Ballina

Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner following a fatal pedestrian crash in Ballina on Saturday.

About 6pm yesterday there was a collision between a Holden Rodeo utility and a female pedestrian on Pine Avenue, East Ballina.

The 39-year-old woman, from Ballina, suffered multiple injuries and was taken to Lismore Base Hospital where she died this morning.

The 26-year-old female driver of the car was taken to Ballina Hospital for routine tests but was uninjured.

Officers from the Ballina Crash Investigation Unit are making inquiries into the crash and ask anyone with information about the incident to phone them on 6681 8618 or via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
