Police investigate inmate death at Grafton

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an inmate at Grafton.

Last Thursday (10 June 2010), a 53-year-old male inmate was found suffering a serious head injury at Grafton Correctional Centre.

He was taken to Grafton Base Hospital for treatment, and later transferred to a hospital in Brisbane.

The 53-year-old man died at 12.05pm today (Monday 14 June 2010).

Detectives attached to Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s injury and death, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
