Pair arrested over alleged kidnapping and wounding – Byron Bay

Police have arrested a man and woman over the alleged kidnapping and malicious wounding of another man at Byron Bay.
Around midnight Friday (2 July), a 48-year-old man attended a unit in Bangalow Road and was allegedly assaulted by two people.
Police allege the victim was hit and kicked a number of times and threatened with a knife.
It’s further alleged he was forced into a car and left on a nature strip in Beech Drive, Byron Bay.
Police and ambulance officers were called to the scene and the man was taken to the Tweed Heads Hospital where he was treated for injuries including a broken ankle, nose and wrist.
Police from the Tweed/Byron Local Area Command later executed a crime scene warrant at a Bangalow Road address and arrested a 24-year-old man and 36-year-old woman.
They were taken to the Byron Bay Police Station where they are assisting with inquiries.
