Teenagers arrested over Tweed Heads robbery attempt

Tweed Heads Police have charged a 16-year-old female and two 16-year-old males following an alleged attempted robbery on Saturday 5 July 2008.
About 11:45pm on Saturday night a 16-year-old male was approached by a group of up to seven youths near the underpass on Terranora Bridge via Bluewaters Crescent, Tweed Heads West.
The female produced what appeared to be a pistol and demanded money from the youth.
A number of other youths then allegedly assaulted the victim.
Early Sunday morning, police located three members of the group and recovered a replica pistol.
The female and two males were charged with assault with intent to rob whilst armed with an offensive weapon.
The three were granted bail and will appear before Tweed Heads Children’s Court today.
The young victim did not receive serous injury during the incident.
