Cyclist dies at South Ballina

Police are investigating after the death of a cyclist at South Ballina yesterday.
 
About 8.15pm, a 49-year-old man was located lying on sand at the edge of a driveway leading into a holiday park on Ballina Beach Road, South Ballina.
 
He was found to be entangled in a mountain bike. An ambulance was called, however, the man was found to be deceased.
 
The man appeared to have no significant bodily injuries and there appears to be no suspicious circumstances at this time, police said.  
 
Police are unsure at this stage how the man died and are appealing for witnesses to assist in the investigation.
 
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
