A woman has been charged with reckless wounding after an alleged glassing incident at Tenterfield on Friday night.

A 21-year-old woman was dancing in a Tenterfield hotel with a group of other people about 11pm yesterday.

Police will allege a 20-year-old woman pushed the older woman, who pushed back.

When the 20-year-old woman pushed again, a spirit glass in her hand struck the older woman on the left side of her forehead.

The woman was treated at Tenterfield Hospital and police were informed of the incident later during an inspection of the premises.

The 20-year-old local woman was located by police from the New England Local Area Command, arrested and charged with reckless wounding.

The woman was granted bail to appear at Tenterfield Local Court on 15 December.
