You’ve had a great night out in Coolangatta, so why blow the budget getting a ride home?

NightLink and TaxiLink are services funded by the Gold Coast City Council and Tweed Shire Council which provide economical and safe transport from Coolangatta down the Tweed Coast in the early hours of Saturday and Sunday mornings.

The NightLink and TaxiLink service offers those aged 18 years and older a way to get home conveniently and safely after having a night in the Coolangatta entertainment precinct, without needing to wait for a taxi – all in a secure environment and without driving after drinking.

Tweed Shire Council is providing a Maxi-Taxi link up at Kingscliff to meet each NightLink bus service to provide a ‘seamless’ service for passengers travelling to destinations past Kingscliff down the Tweed Coast, ending at Pottsville.

The N798 Coolangatta to Kingscliff NightLink bus service operates from 12.15am to 3.15am Queensland Time (1.15am to 4.15am NSW Time) on Saturday and Sunday mornings (and Public Holiday mornings) at standard TransLink fares with security provided.

The NightLink bus service picks up only at Queen Elizabeth Park bus stop McLean Street; Coolangatta Central bus stop Griffith Street; and Coolangatta East bus stop Griffith Street.

From here the bus will only drop-off passengers, but will do so anywhere along the route where it is safe to do so, via Tweed Centro, South Tweed (Dry Dock Road), South Tweed (Fraser Drive), Banora Point (Darlington Drive), Chinderah (Bay Drive) to Kingscliff, Pearl Street bus shop.

The NightLink services operate as regular TransLink services and require a valid ticket for travel. go card is the quickest and easiest way to pay for NightLink as there is no fumbling for change after a night out.

As the trip travels across the Queensland border (into NSW outside of typical TransLink services) the trip will be calculated as a two zone fare = $2.43 (go card) and $3.90 (cash) no matter where you get off along the route.

The bus links passengers with a 10-seater Maxi-Taxi at Kingscliff continuing on to Cudgen, Casuarina and Salt for an additional $5 fare; and Cabarita, Hastings Point and Pottsville for an additional $10 fare. The Maxi Taxi fares are paid directly to the taxi driver.

These services are jointly funded by Gold Coast City Council and Tweed Shire Council.
