3D first for Ballina

In a first for Ballina, Ballina Fair Cinemas will be showing the new movie, Avatar, in 3D. Ballina Fair Cinemas’ manager, Paul McGrath, hopes this will be the first of many 3D films to be shown at the cinema, saying “this is the ultimate in cinema going experience”. He says “We have moved along from the old days of the cardboard punch out red and blue glasses and now can offer our patrons comfortable 3D glasses to borrow during the movie”.
The movie is the first directed by James Cameron since Titanic and has received excellent reviews. It is rumoured that the movie has cost over US$500m to produce and will be one of the most expensive movies ever made.
The official Australian launch for Avatar is 17 December, Ballina Fair Cinemas’ manager, Paul McGrath has announced that for subscribers of the ballina.info weekly newsletter that he is offering a special pre release screening on 16 December at 8pm. Reserved seating will be on basis of first in first served, and will be limited to 250 tickets. Ballina Fair Cinemas will be lending all guests special 3D glasses on the night.
