Last season’s grand finalists Grafton remain win-less after round four of the Coopers Far North Coast rugby union competition.

The Redmen, minor premiers last season but losers to Ballina in the grand final, lost 19-18 to the surprise packets of the 2008 competition, Lennox Head, at Williams Reserve, Lennox, yesterday.

Two bonus points are all that keeps Grafton off equal last place on the ladder — the ‘honour’ is held by Yamba, who had the bye at the weekend and are still without a win this year.

The two Clarence teams will meet next Saturday in what should be another well-contested local derby.

Lennox Head and Coolangatta-Tweed share the competition lead on 14 points after round four.

Coolangatta-Tweed beat Casino 19-13 at Casino on Saturday.

Major premiers Ballina had a surprise 15-3 loss to Lismore on Saturday. It was Lismore’s first win of the season.

In the other match, Wollongbar-Alstonville held on for a 27-25 win over Southern Cross University at Wollongbar.
