One win apiece in Observer Trophy rugby

It was one win each as Far North Coast rugby union teams took on Mid North Coast in the Observer Trophy games held at Yamba on Saturday, June 6.

Far North Coast won the Opens 35-28, while Mid North Coast had a big win in the Under-19s, 54-14.

Opens: Far North Coast 35 (Tristan Allard, Josh Damen, Grant Rooks, Bill Johnston, Haki Walker tries, Kris Thomsen 5 conversions, penalty) d Mid North Coast 28 (Will Guest, Chris Kemp, Leith Vaughan, Villi Vatuuvali tries, Will Guest 4 conversions).

Under-19s: Mid North Coast 54 (Chris Turnham 2, Trae Wilkins 2, Daniel Byrnes 2, Sean Hassett, Scott Ritchie, Corey Gale, Chris Tout tries, Daniel Byrnes, Chris Tout conversions) d Far North Coast 14 (Kahliff Glass, Jack Kelly tries, Kahliff Glass 2 conversions.

Village Competition Round 2 catch-up game: Evans River 10 d Iluka 5.
