Mullumbimby beats Byron Bay; Lower Clarence surprise losers

A convincing win to Mullumbimby Giants over premiers Byron Bay, and a shock loss by NRRRL competition leaders Lower Clarence were the highlights of this weekend’s Round 10 games in Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League.

Mullumbimby won the Battle of Byron Shire 24-8 at Mullumbimby today and now share equal third spot with Byron and Grafton Ghosts. The Giants have a match in hand, against Northern United.

Lower Clarence lost 38-20 to Ballina Seagulls at Ballina on Saturday night and now have been joined on top of the table by Northern United, who narrowly beat Kyogle 34-32 at Kyogle today.

Other winners over the weekend were Lismore Marist Brothers, Evans Head — who scored their second successive win — Grafton Ghosts and Cudgen.
