Northern NSW Football’s campaign at the 2009 FFA National Youth Championships for Boys at BCU International Stadium at Coffs Harbour got off to a great start on Saturday, with both the Under 14 and Under 15 teams winning their opening matches.
In the Under 14s, the Northern NSW side had a strong win over Tasmania 5-1, with Northern’s Jacob Montgomery scoring just 5 minutes into the match and picking up his second in the 23rd minute.
In the Under 15s, a Dominic Bizzarri penalty in the 10th minute sealed the win for Northern NSW against Tasmania, in a more closely contested match.
In Day 2 matches scheduled for Sunday October 4th, the Under 14 Northern NSW side will face South Australia at 2pm, whilst the Under 15s will meet Queensland Country at 12.20pm.
