October 6, 2009
Northern NSW Football’s Under 15 side remain undefeated at the FFA National Youth Championships for Boys after a 2-0 win over NSW Metro yesterday in Coffs Harbour.
Ryan Cole scored the opening goal for Northern in the 23rd minute, followed soon after by Northern’s second goal scored by Jarrod Olivieri in the 32nd minute.
The Under 14s suffered their second loss in as many days, going down 4-0 to a strong Victoria Metro outfit.
An early goal to Victoria in the 6th minute had the Northern side immediately on the back foot and unable to recover, with Victoria sealing the win with goals in the 24th, 33rd and 37th minute.
The Under 14s will look to regroup during today’s rest day, whilst the Under 15 side will be eager to maintain their momentum in preparation for the resumption of matches on Wednesday when the Under 14s will come up against Queensland Country at 3.30pm and the 15s will meet the Northern Territory at 10.40am.
