Tony Zann’s weekend fishing report
October 10, 2009
Bruce from Dave’s Bait Shop says there’s been a few whiting in the lower river and up as far as Pimlico, with bloodworms the preferred bait. Poppers might catch a few as well.
A fair few bream and some reasonable flathead, with the odd school jew, around Wardell and Broadwater.
Beaches and offshore have been too rough and windy to get much traffic.
At Evans Head the wind is enough to lift bank interest rates and the swell is too scary for the surfers.
There were some bream, whiting and flathead up Airforce Beach before the gales but there’s not much Airforce Beach at all at high tide at the moment.
There could be a few blackfish around the walls with the rough weather and there are whiting and flathead in the river and that’s about it for Evans Head this weekend.
