Far North Coaster surf report

June 6, 2008

Pleasant conditions today for the start of the All Girls competition at Lennox Head, but things look likely to change for the worse over this long weekend.

This morning there’s a relatively clean swell of four to five feet and a moderate offshore.

However, the outlook for Saturday is for south-west to southerly winds to 25 knots, swinging to the south-east on Sunday.

The protected headlands are likely to be the best spots.

North Wall and the beaches at Ballina are a no-go zone this weekend, with recent rain flushing all sorts of nasties out of the Richmond River.

Check out the Australian Lifeguard Service’s beach safety warning elsewhere on this site — and pay attention to it!
