A win to Lennox Head over Ballina and a surprise loss by competition leaders Wollongbar Alstonville were the highlights of round 11 of the Far North Coast rugby union competition on Saturday.
Lennox Head scaped home 14-10 over the major premiers in a one-try-each match at Quays Reserve, Ballina.
Three penalty goals to Lennox Head’s Adam Gordon made the difference.
Lismore stunned the home fans with a comprehensive 29-5 win over Wollongbar Alstonville at Wollongbar.
Tries to Scott Lancaster, James Wood, Matt Birmingham and Stephen Hughes paved the way for the win.
Wollongbar Alstonville still leads the competition, but has been joined by Coolangatta Tweed, who were convincing 22-7 winners over Grafton.
In the other match, Southern Cross University put a run of defeats behind them with a 40-33 win over Yamba in Lismore.
