The Lismore Song

April 14, 2008

For this week’s Far North Coast video feature I decided to have a bit of scout around YouTube for some Lismore related content.  My search led me to what is a somewhat unique musical interpretation of Lismore by missredelle.  The Lismore song is by no means complimentary and I have transcribed the words below.

The Lismore Song Lyrics

Lismore, Lismore you’re too far from Byron to be a yuppie town.

Lismore, Lismore you’re too far from Nimbin to be a hippie town.

You’re stuck in the middle, not sure what you should be.  You’re stuck with the dregs of society.  Poor Lismore if it wasn’t for the UNE you’d be a ghost town, you’d be a ghost town.

Lismore, Lismore you’re too far from Casino to be a beef town.

Lismore, Lismore you’re too far from Alstonville to be a Christian town.

You’re stuck in the middle, not sure what you should be.  You’re stuck with the dregs of society.  Poor Lismore if it wasn’t for the UNE, you’d be a ghost town, you’d be a ghost town.

We would love to hear what you think in the comments below.
