The hills will be alive with the sound of Puccini and Gershwin on Sunday, July 27, at Coronation Park, The Channon, when the village again hosts the annual Opera at The Channon.
The opera is from 1.30pm until dusk and will feature young performers from Opera Queensland’s Young Artist Program being accompanied by Jillian Stoll and compere Geoffrey Ashenden.
This annual fund-raiser is presented by Lismore Rotary Clubs.

Opera Queensland Young Artist Program performers will include:
- Emily Burke – Soprano
- Sophie Wotton – Mezzo Soprano
- Bernard Wheaton – Tenor
- Joshua Rowe – Baritone
- Jillian Stoll – Pianist
- Geoffrey Ashenden – Compere.
They will sing such favourites as “Brindisi” from La Traviata, “La Donna e Mobile” from Rigoletto and many more and followed in the second half by showstoppers like “If I Loved You” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone” from Carousel, “On My Own” and “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables.
All proceeds will go towards the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter and Combined Rotary Charities.
