North Coast kids can enjoy a wide range of fun and challenging sport and recreation programs offered by Communities NSW Sport and Recreation division in the upcoming summer school holidays.
“From surfing to cricket and abseiling to mountain bike riding – there are a great range of exciting and energetic activities available,” said Heidi Duncan from Communities NSW.
“These programs are a wonderful way to encourage kids to enjoy physical recreation while improving their fitness, co-ordination and social skills.
“Kids will love trying out the adventurous activities, while parents will appreciate the chance to relax knowing their children are closely supervised by experienced staff.”
North Coast school holiday programs:
- Abseiling at IQ Quarry Byron Bay – January 13.
- Mountain biking at Nightcap National Park – January 14.
- Surfing at Lake Ainsworth Sport and Recreation Centre – January 14 and 15.
- Activity Days at Lake Ainsworth Sport and Recreation Centre – January 18 to 22.
- Cricket clinics in Lismore, Brunswick Heads and Ballina – various dates in January
“The wide variety of programs caters for children between the ages of seven and 15,” Ms Duncan said.
“The Cricket Clinics in Lismore, Brunswick Heads and Ballina are each held over three half-days and are the perfect way to help young cricket fans develop the finer skills of the game.
“The Activity Days at Lake Ainsworth include a huge range of fun camp activities including rock climbing, archery, canoeing and more.
“Prices start from just $55 for a whole day’s entertainment. Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.”
